I don't understand why people still rag on about >IS DIS GUD IRON Even the $2 irons are decent these days. Sure, there are quality of life upgrades like easily swapped tips and stored temps but the main core of the thing which is heating up a bit of metal to a precise-ish temperature and dumping that heat into a component is a solved issue.
