>a bit of thermal matching A tale as old as digital electronics. The limiting factor for analog electronics is how well manufacturing can match two transistors. Turns out with digital we just have to add bits. What's the underlying physical principle? Does the standard require a response to a probe with a precise and fixed delay so the round trip can be measured? Attenuation wont work as it depends on everything else besides distance.

Canβt you just buy sufficiently matched transistors in a single package? Maybe even the darlingtons in a ULN2003.
