The prose reads like it was written by an alien at times, and Severian is such a milquetoast protagonist. The plot was meandering and yawn inducing. I read Latro in the Mist before this and it was more of the same, except way too repetitive. I don't get the Wolfe praise he has some cool ideas, but everything else is subpar. I don't think I'll be reading anything from him again.","topicHash":"0447196ba9b8e4a587001ab0fbc2df00ada80f5c88d68891e15f032e45321e8a","topicName":"literature","parentHash":"2ffe94ab568bd0bc193c45e0d9cc2613b32224037df4b73ab668f050a0697ba7","costSunk":"0","biasSupport":0,"biasOppose":0,"biasVouch":0,"biasNull":0,"blockHeight":null,"confirmations":0,"timestamp":"2026-10-31T23:09:54.920Z","tripFp":"45bf092e447d","viewCount":0,"powDifficulty":0,"relation":0,"ephemeral":true,"nonce":"2cae5d72505d9017","sig":"aeaa88750b0446d8663bb281b385869a72758d713a880ab2fab637739b269f75dba4d9cd150b2f91a18dc07e9fbbe754a190b20a8e76931656f3697aa8c98c49","ephStamp":{"blockHashHex":"00000000000000000000bb21aac41248ca08027a32fc6868a67a2b0d89bb514c","nonceHex":"8284000000000000"},"replyCount":0,"chainReplyCount":0,"vaporReplyCount":0,"clusterSize":1,"receiptHeight":974036,"expiryHeight":978356,"authorMarks":{"since":"2026-10-31T23:09:54.941Z","via":"sight","inscribed":0,"likes":0,"biases":0},"lang":"en"}],"nextCursor":null,"pageReceipt":{"host":"6af58b1822e0cabfe57d76540f745d059b438f489a796ec6a705c6540233845e","t":"2026-11-08T19:55:25.829Z","sig":"1d9b22a078e61282dd0b232b975bbddfb8d6c6f37a4d0918962b6f640b2270be951bd19e0efb4814204c458e718c218fe8765f35d02293c5c2114374fc0da112"},"marks":{"since":"2026-10-31T23:09:54.941Z","via":"sight","inscribed":0,"likes":0,"biases":0}}
