Thus far you can summarize with > country: France, 3 year PhD program > topic: inverse problems > 2 international signal processing conf papers 1 national conf paper, signal processing conf papers are theoretical, national conf one is very applied > 2 theoretical journal papers, first ieee tsp 2nd Siam optimization and control > 1 patent About 9 months to go for my PhD,…+

I'm simply saying that, for what parts of your experience you have chosen to share here, most are going to be glossed over by industry recruiters. 𓀐 @iND+Q+nC: Accepted the job at the T3 semiconductor company. Unfortunately it's 95% project management and with virtually no technical or scientific element. At least it's a job in industry right? Right? The janitors at NASA also got the rocket to the moon after all, right?+

𓀐 @vCBjbHCU: As an employed chemistry grad the only advice I can give you is immediately pivot to a more applied sub-field when it comes to getting experience if you actually want to be employable at one point. The classic lab head/synthesis career is dead unless you want to spend a decade in academia and then maybe you might make it in something like drug design. With a Bachelor's and no other experiences there are only badly paid quality assurance/analytics jobs and in (chemical) industry engineering grad…+

𓀐 @JF*crVWj: I got a math degree during covid. Yes, I know. I'm seriously considering going back to school for an EE degree. I aimlessly got a degree and now aimlessly work a dead-end job I dislike. My past experience/resume is currently tailored to "data analysis" jobs which in my experience are all glorified administrative jobs with little potential for growth. Starting to realise I would really like the opportunity to work on something tangible, complex, and with lots of ways to specialise. Signals proce…+
