𓀐 @tcQXS6VY: People are deranged as fuck today because they are obsessed with being instead of doing. They care way too much over what they believe themselves to be, and make it out to be some kind of crime against humanity for someone else to deny their self-perceived being. You know what I mean, the whole "did you just misgender me shitlord" thing. Or variants of it with the political spectrum flipped where being white is the most important thing possible and people fling accusations of brownness around. But it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter what you are or think you are, what matters is what you do. People from antiquity and the Middle Ages knew this. You aren't a static thing. What you do, what proceeds out of you, is the most important thing about you, and it speaks to what you are far more than anything else. But everyone is stuck thinking about what they are and looking for the right label for what they are and worrying about being this or that instead of doing anything.

>People from antiquity and the Middle Ages knew this you’re wrong about that. actually being over doing is a very ancient idea.

𓀐 @oN7fEG+A: No, I'm not. I'm not talking about the philosophical concepts of being or becoming but something more concrete and personal. It's the difference between someone defining themselves as a homosexual and someone who has committed homosexual acts, the latter is what is heard in a confession booth while the former doesn't really apply there.+
