I’m alone again tonight. It’s how my evenings are most nights now. I don’t enjoy being alone, but I remind myself that if I don’t enjoy it, I can recall that I was the one who made this decision. Not through words. Through deeds. Small at first, one by one, until they were impossible to ignore. Until they were done. Until they took the kids with them.
