They don't seem to make pcb-mountable SSRs at the current rating I need (5-6A) plus they're kinda pricey anyway. So I'm thinking of implementing it myself. Is it just an opto and a triac? Just wire the micro into a zero-crossing opto then wire that up to the triac? Do I need to care about zero-crossing on the micro, maybe to align the control signal it emits?
