I installed Gentoo for the first time. Oddly satifying, even if it took a few hours. It's kind of obvious but having to sit through compilation is such a good motivator to actually learn and customize your system to your needs. You really feel it when you are compiling dist-kernel and you see a bunch of shit you know you don't need. It's so glaring I'm not sure I would be comfortable going back to a non-source based distro.
