What people love most about the 50s was the Suburban life, but suburbs still exist, and they remain largely unchanged from the 50s, so I suspect the only people actually nostalgic for this decade are just poor

𓀐 @DGxRmm-7: Physically they may be unchanged, but culturally they're completely different. I grew up in Levittown on LI. The first modern suburb. The suburb that defined the post-war boom. From the late '80s when I was a kid to now it's completely different. Even from the early 2000s. It's technology. Kids are completely destroyed by internet and social media. Now we're even seeing scientific research that confirms what we all can plainly observe.+
