𓀐 @ppQ7=bfF: Why do right-wing grifters like pensandpoison and that Joon girl complain endlessly about “Marxism” and “wokeness” allegedly killing the artistry of modern literature when right-wing conservatives were pumping out all sorts of slop novels in the 90s and 2000s? Picrel, for instance, was about a state governor covering up his daughter’s death from a botched abortion because he needed support from abortion rights orgs to win his re-election and is later exposed by a Christian news anchor with prophetic powers; this crap is no different from a Sally Rooney novel or “Yesteryear” just neocon/Evangelical in orientation with the same dogshit writing style. Tons of hypocrisy and ignorance on the part of the “anti-work” literary critic crowd.

I have never read Peretti. Is he worth my time?
