Not for prose or tight editing or deep themes, frankly. As a whole, web novels are infamous for content sprawl and pacing issues. Ease of access & potential for Patreon earnings. Many successful authors gain an audience on their website of choice and funnel their readers into a Patreon. Hi. I am new to the webnovel scene, writing xianxia about hating yourself a whole lot and struggling to overcome people who hate you even more than you hate yourself. I am planning on smashing my face into royal road once I have enough of a backlog prepared. (Currently I have about 30 chapters but a lot of them are badly in need of an edit. I want to make sure that I start things off strong, even if I won't have time for constant editing if I start doing this for a living.) I'm reading the guides and learning a lot about how to market and hopefully make it to rising star- but I really really want someone to take a look at what I've got and tell me if I'm even remotely on the right track. I write a lot, but I've never (seriously) written cultivation/xianxia before this. If anyone would take a look, I'd be really pleased. Even if you just open it, read five sentences, and say "This is bad, I stopped reading because of [reason]" that would help a ton! Thank you. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NzSs11CpjA8uzLbTZOg2S9x46AhwcsGye3vItCIqIC8/edit?usp=sharing Thank you!
