𓀐 @PCvQCCvn: How much airflow does a fridge/freezer combo actually need. My fridge fits in the nook extremely snugly so I figure I should put some holes in the back of the side walls so it can get some airflow. The manual just says "5cm around each side". If I wack a 10x20cm or so hole in the top and the bottom it should be fine, right?+

𓀐 @4w?ip9Lv: I bought some rubberized plates for my home gym, and the problem is that they have this strong rubber smell (If you've been to a gym, you know it). Is there a way to get rid of that? I've tried scrubbing it with hot soapy water, and it kinda worked, but the smell came back after a day or so.+

𓀐 @jWW9TGAM: fucks sake spent an hour and a shameful amount of money arguing with Claude about the geometry of my woodworking project turns out that when I said "curve" it decided all on its own and for no reason that it HAS to be a circular arc, which ended up imposing constraints that made the rest of the geometry not work, and it was just spinning in circles trying to reinterpret things to get it to work and throwing the resulting nonsense at me. with that completely baseless assumption out of the way, e…+

𓀐 @yqUcN6tE: Here's a couple dumb questions. I have neglected my showerhead for a while and the hard water ended up clogging a few streams and now my baseboard near my bath tub is rotting. I am assuming the wall is also molding but I am too retard to rip it off and check it. Should I just nail the shit down or buy some new sheet rock and attempt to patch the area before installing a new baseboard? 𓀐 @rXBGS5?n: If I'm a poorfag who cannot afford a dentist's visit and I have the beginnings of a cavity on one of my molars. What's the best way to do a DIY filling until I can afford to have it done properly? Would sterilizing it with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, then applying a drop of super glue work? 𓀐 @_QNft56X: I'm trying to expand the mortice of our aluminum doors so that I can insert a Zigbee sensor inside to sense if the doors are locked, but it seems I'm not using the correct tool for the job. First attempt was drilling (as evidenced by the two holes), the idea being to drill multiple holes then snap the remainder off, but realized that it's a double-layer of aluminum which took long to drill into, and I already broke one drill bit trying this out. Next attempt was a cut-off tool with a carbide di…+

𓀐 @H76R6uS3: How do I "fix" small scratches on my nice wood table? It's an antique that I recently inherited. I want to get it fully refinished eventually, but for right now I just want the really obvious scratches to be less noticable. I've heard about rubbing walnuts or a mix of oil and vinegar into them will buff them out, but is that actually true? Kind of sounds like one of those fake "hacks" you see on YouTube or TikTok or whatever. I don't want to ruin the table or make it harder to refinish later. T…+

Other q probably a bunch of qs but some of my ducts are blowing a lot of dark dust/dirt and there is some buildup on my ceiling in some rooms. My spare room is worse than others but other rooms there is nothing on the textured ceiling near the duct. I barely dust my ceiling as I am once again retard. Not sure how long ago the duct work was replaced in my home as I just got it a few years ago. Should I be worried about this?+

I also tried a hand saw but it took forever to go just 1 cm, and the saw kept getting stuck too. What kind of tool should I actually be using? Fucking Christ almighty. I had plans to wire everything up but I was so sore and tired by the end of it I just drove home. I did not have a socket adapter for my drill and I didn't want to make another trip to the hardware store so I put the lag bolts in by hand. By the end my arm felt about ready to fall off. God damn I am fucking stupid and mad.+

Kind of sounds like one of those fake "hacks" you see on YouTube or TikTok or whatever. I don't want to ruin the table or make it harder to refinish later. The scratches aren't deep, mostly just annoying to look at. I have no idea what it is or what it's finished with, but it's a solid wood table from the 60's or earlier. I don't want to go out and buy tinted wax just for this, if there isn't a way to make the scratches disappear from more common home supplies then I'll just throw a tablecloth on it for now. Thanks.+

𓀐 @TTCer*rN: Bedroom has this wall light that uses a pull chain on the fixture and it's been broken for years, getting sick of using a lamp when this should be working properly. I'm considering a project to swap from pullchain to a light which uses a switch on the wall. I seen a couple videos on YouTube and it doesn't look impossible past sourcing the tools/supplies. Should I just talk myself off the ledge and get an electrician or could a retard do this (myself)?+

𓀐 @HHQwmUPw: Is there anything like CLR but foodsafe? The ice maker started making one hell of a squealing sound so I took it apart for a more thorough cleaning. The hoses were lousy with dried mineral deposits, see pic related. I pulled one out and looked down the bore and it reminded me of one of those medical diagrams that shows an artery clogged with plaque. I bent the tube in my hand and it was like cracking a glowstick. I pulled all the hoses and got all the build up out using one of those flexible brushes you use for cleaning metal straws. We have only ever used bottled spring water to fill it but I'm switching to distilled water to see if that makes a difference. Manufacturer recommends running a cleaning cycle through it with diluted bleach whenever the cleaning light goes off, which we have been keeping up with. To the bleach's credit, there was no mold inside. You shouldn't steal, period. You know that. Come on, guy.+

𓀐 @A*EwwFi5: Howdy, /diy/ I need to figure out where to drill a bunch of holes in this panel I made for my tailgate to lineup with the rivnuts. How do I do that? I know if I just use a measuring tape I'll biff it up with how many I need to drill. I was thinking about cutting a bunch of pieces of allthread, sharpening the end, putting a piece in each rivnut, lining up the panel and smacking it. Does that sound like the way to go, or is there a better way?+
