𓀐 @KdZjNbTn: people are lemmings, they only do things because they're trendy and popular, rust is the only popular "low level" language anyone is willing to talk about, C is everywhere but it's not trendy, it's also associated with boomers and chuds, and trans people make up the majority of hobbyist programmers these days, they will not be touching C code or creating new C projects.

>C is everywhere but it's not trendy, Can you name any new notable C project that was started in this decade? Just because there is tons of legacy C projects doesn't mean it's suitable for greenfield projects.

𓀐 @8pvoNyay: Nta https://github.com/ggml-org/llama.cpp Fun fact. It was originally created because the head maintainer wanted to run LLMs on his MacBook, and now Apple Silicon is one of the best platforms to run local models on from a price to performance and convenience perspective.+

𓀐 @k2L_?*ft: I do not have a single application, that is written in Rust, installed on my machine. Not even one. And i don't even try to avoid it. There just isn't anything worth using that is written in Rust.+
