Should I run Fedora or Arch? The only thing keeping me on Fedora is SELinux protections, official Google Chrome repo, and generally being a high quality, well supported OS. I don't want to run Flatpak Chrome or deal with AUR busywork and maintenance overhead. But Arch Extra repo has lots of desktop-relevant packages. To do the same on Fedora requires COPR which is untrustworthy.

𓀐 @r?N7mr4R: arch is a diy distro, you can configure and harden it to be better than any fedora defaults if you know what you're doing. but also all the maintenance of burden and control and testing falls onto you. for most people fedora is a better option, but they're honestly really lazy too, there's no excuse for how complicated they make it to get multimedia codecs or nvidia drivers setup, especially secureboot with nvidia, it should be a one click gui thing and the user should never have to do anything in the terminal. And fedora can often be very heavy for some reason, there's a crosseyed old chud on youtube that does testing of distros in terms of ssd speeds and basic benchmarks and fedora out of the box is often times pretty heavy in terms of ram/cpu/ssd, probably because of some background auto update or filesystem or security/selinux configurations. But there's no perfect distro.+
